A memorable freshman year on the mat for Sigourney-Keota sensation Reanah Utterback meant plenty of postseason praise and recently she was named one of the best in the state.

The Des Moines Register released the 2022 All-Iowa girls wrestling teams with the top 24 wrestlers regardless of class being recognized and Utterback made the cut. The Savage swept through the girls state wrestling tournament in January at 110 pounds by pinning all five of her opponents in just over five minutes combined. That dominance translated to the boys’ side as well where Utterback finished her first high school season with a 35-8 record and a class 1A state tournament berth at 106 lbs in February.

She was just the fifth girl in Iowa High School history to qualify for boys state. A total of 22 different schools were represented on the all Iowa girls wrestling team with Utterback being one of five freshman on the list.
