Washington High School was alive on the final weekend of February for the annual Orange and Black Bullseye and 3D Shoot-Out Archery Tournaments. The Demons were runners-up in the high school bullseye shoot with their score of 3287, behind Cedar Rapids Prairie’s 3340. Jonathan Moore topped the field with his round of 286 and 19 tens to bring home the boys individual title. Allison Rees led the Wash girls with a 280 that included 16 tens for third overall. The high school Demons were also second in the 3D shoot with a 1654, just behind Cedar Rapids Prairie’s 1689. Moore was the top boy and Rees the top girl as well with Moore finishing runner-up on a 287 round that included 21 tens and Rees seventh with a 272 that included 10 tens. The middle school Demons won the bullseye team title with a 3223. Lily Brown was the top shooter, finishing as girls runner-up with a 278 that included 13 tens. Josh Anderson was boys runner-up with a 275 that included 11 tens. The middle schoolers were also best in the 3D contest with a 1574 team score. Teage Pepper shot a 273 with 11 tens to lead Washington with his runner-up performance. Brown was third on the girls side with a round of 267 that included 13 tens. The Lincoln Demons won the bullseye contest with a 2847. Bella Venenga was the girls champion with a round of 249 that included three tens. Jace Helfrich was third in the boys contest with a 249 that included five tens.

Mid-Prairie also competed at the Orange and Black this weekend. The high school Hawks were fifth of six schools in bullseye action with a 3178 score. Zane Fisher was third in the boys contest with a 284 and 17 tens. Morgan Nafziger had the top girls score with a 274 that included 15 tens for 13th. Mid-Prairie was fourth of five teams in the high school 3D portion with a 1591. Zane Fisher had the top boys day with a 283 that included 17 tens for sixth individually. Zoe Fisher was the top 3D girl taking 10th with a round of 270 that included nine tens. The middle school Hawks were fourth on the bullseye side with a score of 3002. Tommy Miller led the Golden Hawk boys with a 273 with 14 tens for fourth overall. Lael Seale had the top girls score with a 268 and eight tens for ninth. In 3D the middle school team was fourth of five with a score of 1591. Elijah Statler won the individual boys title with a 282 that included 15 tens. Seale was the top girl here also with a 261 and eight tens to take fourth. In elementary action, Morgan Northup was the boys bullseye championship with a 254 that included four tens. Mya Brenneman was the top girls performer with a 239 that included six tens to finish third. In the 3D portion, Preston Ford led the way for the Hawks, finishing runner-up with a 243 that included nine tens.
