The City of Washington has begun spring cleanup of the Elm Grove and Woodlawn cemeteries this week.

Any decorations that were left at grave sites prior to this month have been disposed of, besides shepherd’s hooks, military markers, monument toppers, planted and potted flowers, and vase flowers. Any other decorations that were left on the ground have been disposed of, and summer cleanup will begin on June 15th at 7 a.m. The city recently launched its online cemetery burial search for those wishing to find information on sites at Elm Grove Cemetery. Woodlawn records are not available at this time but will be added in the future. You can find a link here.
