Washington County saw its first severe thunderstorm of 2022 Saturday evening as KCII provided live on-air coverage of the storm.
The National Weather Service Quad Cities Office issued the warning for northern Washington County at about 7:45 p.m. which was allowed to expire at 8:30. This was a radar-indicated storm with 60 mile-per-hour wind gusts predicted. Three-quarter inch size hail was spotted at 7:36 p.m. in North English. Four members of the KCII Severe Weather Action Team responded to the storm as well as Weathereye Meteorologists and Louisa County Emergency Management Agency. A Tornado Watch is in effect for Washington County until 11 p.m. Saturday. Listen to KCII for weather updates.
