A Burlington man will spend 144 months in prison for a drug conspiracy involving area law enforcement agencies.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District Court of Iowa announces that 35-year-old Daniel Joseph Fritzjunker was sentenced last week to 12 years behind bars for Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine, a Class B Felony. According to court documents, the investigation began when the Mount Pleasant Police Department received a tip of Fritzjunker’s involvement in the distribution of methamphetamine in Henry County. Throughout the investigation he was repeatedly identified as a major source for the drugs which he admitted in later law enforcement interviews. On September 17th of last year, he pleaded guilty to the charge. Following release he is ordered to spend five years of supervised release and pay a $100 Special Assessment to the Crime Victims’ Fund. The Henry and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Offices assisted in the investigation of the case.
