Mid-Prairie 285lb senior Gannon Callahan closed out his career this season on the big stage at the state tournament at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. The big man also climbed into the top ten on the program’s all-time wins list. Callahan closed his career with an overall record of 119-39, a .753 winning percentage. His 119 total victories place him 10th on the all-time Golden Hawk individual wins list.

Callahan reached the 30 win plateau twice in his career, posting a 36-11 record his sophomore season and a 32-4 mark as a junior. He won 28 matches as a freshman and despite missing half of his senior season with a lingering injury from football, he still managed to go 24-5, take home a sectional championship, qualify for state for the first time in his career and score a victory at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines in his first match of the tournament. Callahan joined the 100 win club on senior night in Wellman with a pin of Cooper Vaupel of Center Point-Urbana, becoming the 14th wrestler in Golden Hawk history to hit the milestone.
