It was a busy last weekend for the YMCA of Washington County Water Sharks traveling to Marshalltown for the annual YMCA state swim meet.
A total of 19 individuals made the trip with a handful of them having top 10 finishes. Kaden Huber was a state champ in the boys 9-10 year old division for the breaststroke by edging second place by .04 seconds with a time of 1:28.06. Huber was also second in the 100 yard individual medley and second in the 50 yard breaststroke. Quinn Wubbena placed third in the 50 yard freestyle, fifth in the 100 yard freestyle, and fifth in the 200 yard freestyle for the 15-21 year old division. Brennen Westphal collected a seventh place showing in the 50 yard breaststroke for 13-21 year olds. The top girls finish was Jaylah Redlinger placing 10th in the 50 yard breaststroke for the 11-12 year old division.
