The Washington Community Theater is giving their final weekend of performances of the comedy play “The Curious Savage.”
Featuring a cast of 11 local thespians, the play tells of the titular Mrs. Savage who has been left a fortune by her deceased husband, and wants to make the best use of it. Her grown stepchildren think otherwise and commit her to a mental institution in order to get their hands on the money. Director Don Hughes encourages area residents to come see the show, their second since the pandemic shut down the community theater’s productions nearly two years ago, “It’s a funny show, there are laughs all over the place. Some are subtle, some are pretty obvious. I’ve seen the thing many, many times and I still laugh and smile. The cast is great, you’re going to have a good time.”
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Washington Community Center located near the Washington County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for students.
