A change is coming to motor vehicle use in the city of Kalona. At their March 7th meeting the Kalona City Council voted unanimously to approve language changing an ordinance pertaining to usage of golf carts and UTVs on city streets. These can still be operated within city limits with a city issued permit within the parameters set by the city code of ordinances and state regulations. A permit from the city costs $25. The application is available online or can be picked up at City Hall. Once the application is received an in-person inspection of the vehicle must be done before a permit can be issued.
