The Mid-Prairie Speech team had a big day at the Iowa High School Speech Association’s Individual Event Speech Contest at Grinnell High School Saturday. The Golden Hawks sent 19 entries to the contest, six were nominated to perform at the State Association’s All-State Festival.
Haydon Bailey received the nod in Acting and Musical Theatre. Olivia Caskey will move on to perform at state in After Dinner Speaking. Logan McClellen will be at the All-State Festival and perform in the Storytelling category. Jack Greiner will perform in the All-State Improvisation category. Avery Slaubaugh will take the stage at the All-State Festival for Interpretive Prose.
A total of 16 Mid-Prairie events received Division I ratings on Saturday at Grinnell. The All-State Festival will be held Monday, March 28th at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.
