After a record breaking year, the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys basketball team is receiving the hardware to go with it. The River Valley Conference recognized six Golden Hawks on all-conference teams.

Mid-Prairie senior Carter Harmsen was a unanimous elite All-River Valley selection. Harmsen, a senior, is also a second team class 2A All-State pick by the writers this year. He led the Golden Hawks and finished seventh in class 2A scoring 20 points per game. His eight rebounds per night were also best on the team and fifth in 2A. He scored 491 total points this year, shooting 52% from the floor and 35% from three point range, finishing with 205 rebounds, 52 assists, 45 steals and 25 blocked shots. Harmsen ranks third on Mid-Prairie’s all-time scoring list with 1,182 points.

Senior Jack Pennington was also an elite all-RVC pick. He dished out four assists per game and 101 total for the season, best on the team while scoring nine points per game for 220 total. He also pulled in 56 rebounds and grabbed 44 steals.

Senior Ethan Kos was an all-South team pick. He scored 10 points per game to go along with six rebounds, both second on the team. He ended the year with 241 points, 146 rebounds and 19 steals.

Senior Will Cavanagh was an RVC all-South selection. He scored 188 points, pulled in 76 rebounds, dished out 55 assists and had 26 steals.

Junior Alex Bean was an all-South pick. Bean scored 201 points with 67 rebounds, 46 assists and 29 steals.

Senior Justice Jones was an honorable mention RVC selection. Jones had 78 rebounds, scored 49 points, 32 assists and 28 steals.

Golden Hawk head coach Daren Lambert was named River Valley Conference South Division Coach of the Year.

Mid-Prairie put together a 24 game winning streak to start the season, their longest in school history, finishing the year 24-1 with their first state tournament trip since 2010.
