The first time this spring that runners will compete under the bright lights of Case Field will be Friday with the Washington boys’ track team hosting the Steve Roth Relays.

The outdoor season opening meet was scheduled for Thursday, but predicted cold weather has pushed the annual event back a day. Joining the Demons as area schools participating include Columbus Community, Highland, WACO, and Winfield-Mt. Union. Other boys programs making the trip include Carlisle, Cedar Rapids Prairie, Cedar Rapids Xavier, Danville, Fairfield, Fort Madison, Iowa City West, Iowa City High, Mediapolis, Mount Pleasant, Ottumwa, Wapello, and West Burlington. 

The meet will get underway at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Case Field in Washington.
