The Mid-Prairie boys and girls track teams wrapped up the indoor season Tuesday with a trip to the University of Dubuque for the River Valley Conference Championship meet. The Golden Hawk girls were fourth of 13 teams with their score of 52 and a half points. Northeast Goose Lake won the title with 91 points. The Hawks won two event championships on the night with Mitzi Evans blowing away the field in the 800, winning the event by more than 18 seconds with a time of 2:21.57. Emma Lueck was a River Valley champion in the long jump, clearing 16’1″

The Golden Hawk boys were fifth of 13 schools with 43 points. Bellevue won the team title with 76 points. Cain Brown won River Valley gold in the high jump, clearing 6’3″. Brown was RVC runner-up in the 55m hurdles and the Golden Hawk sprint medley team of Will Cavanagh, Brown, Jackson Gehman and Thaddeus Shetler was also second.

The Mid-Prairie boys will next be in action Friday at the Steve Roth Relays at Case Field in Washington. The Golden Hawk girls will next run in Mt. Pleasant March 31st.
