The Washington City Council approved a subdivision development agreement at their recent meeting.

A public hearing was held prior to their approval to give an economic development grant not exceeding $800,000 to MSJ, LLC. for a housing development of 30 lots to be phased in by 2031. The agreement states that six units will be completed by 2025. The city is also agreeing to conduct a sewer boring of 650 linear feet which shall be completed no later than six months after MSJ has submitted their plans for the development to the city’s planning and zoning commission, and all costs of the boring shall be borne by the city. While a map of the development was not included in the council packet, Council Member Illa Earnest asked one of MSJ’s owners Jeff Hazelett whether green space or a park will be included, to which Hazelett said the second phase of the project would include that.
