Seven Washington Water Sharks took their talents to Des Moines over the weekend for the 2022 YMCA North Central Regional with plenty of personal records being set. 

Over 500 athletes competed at the Prairie Meadows Pool with 39 teams being represented from Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Wisconsin. Washington had one champ with Kaden Huber swimming in six events and winning the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:25.89. The 10 and under boys division also saw Huber receive a third place medal in the 50 yard breaststroke. Senior Quinn Wubbena competed in four events with his top finish coming in the 15 and over 100 yard free with a third place showing clocking in with a personal best time of 49.77 seconds. Other finishes included Jaylah Redlinger ninth in the 50 yard breaststroke and Makenzie Messer 23rd in the same event (12U Girls). Ellie Prier was 10th in the 50 yard breaststroke (8U Girls) while Logan Westphal and Ty Huber were 16th and 17th respectively in the 50 yard breaststroke (12U Boys). 

A handful of Water Sharks will officially wrap up their winter this weekend at the Midwest Regional in Minneapolis.
