The City of Keota is in discussion with Keokuk County to upgrade their emergency system. Keota City Clerk Tomisha Hammes and Kevin Slaubaugh with the City of Keota Water, Streets, Parks and Sewer departments met with Keokuk County Emergency Management Coordinator Larry Smith to discuss an upgrade to the city’s generator and emergency siren system. Smith is submitting a grant request for around $69,000 to replace the generator, siren, fence, barricades and LP tank for Keota.
