The National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP), has announced their Academic Archer selections and more than two dozen Mid-Prairie shooters were selected.
The Golden Hawk middle school girls had the most of any group with 10 athletes recognized. Lael Seale, Fiona McClellen, Madelyn Sieren, Delayna Danner, Mya Brenneman, Averi Janecek, Sophia Puttmann, Jaiden Lara, Tessa Bombei and Ava Miller were all selected.
The Mid-Prairie high school boys had seven selections including Parker Jennings, Koby Karnes, Zane Fisher, Christopher Burnham, Payton Peck, Peyton Freeman and Blake Peck.
Five high school girls were recognized with Kyla Karnes, Zoe Fisher, Morgyn Nafziger, Alexa Huber and Kaylee Shirkey all receiving the honor.
Five middle school boys were also recognized with Elijah Statler, Jack Sorell, Tate Bombei, Jacob Debler and Benjamin Lothamer receiving the award.
In order to be an Academic Archer, students must have been a full participant in the “in-school” NASP archery class, have no D’s or F’s or equivalent on their report card, and have a GPA that establishes them within their school criteria for high academic scholarship.
