At about 7:30 Friday morning, Iowa County emergency responders were called to a grain bin entrapment at 2172 M Avenue near Williamsburg. Iowa County Sheriff Robert Rotter states when personnel arrived on scene they located a single, male victim, 63-year-old Robert Wade Chittick of Williamsburg. He was buried in approximately 10 feet of corn and pronounced dead at the scene. The grain bin was a 20,000 bushel capacity bin owned by Kinze Manufacturing and leased to Circle J Grain of Williamsburg. Those responding to the scene included Iowa County Ambulance and Rescue, Williamsburg Fire and QRS, and the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office.
