Two contested county official races are on the ballot for the June 7th primary election.

Friday was the deadline to file for county offices, and Washington County has five positions up for election. Incumbent Marcus Fedler of Ainsworth is running against Bill Poch of Riverside for the Republican nomination for District 3 on the Board of Supervisors, and two newcomers are running for the Republican nomination for County Recorder. Washington residents Dawn Fall-Hayes and Teresa Mangold have filed, while current County Recorder Jo Greiner is not seeking reelection. In other offices, District 5 Supervisor Richard Young, County Treasurer Jeff Garrett, and County Attorney John Gish are all running unopposed for the Republican nomination. No candidates filed for Democratic nomination to the county races.

The filing period for state and federal offices closed on March 18th. For the redrawn Senate District 46 which will represent all of Washington County in 2023, current senators Republican Dawn Driscoll of Williamsburg and Democrat Kevin Kinney of Oxford have filed, and for Representative District 92 newcomers Heather Hora and Jaron Rosien both from Washington are running for the Republican nomination, and Ty Bopp of Riverside is running for the Democratic nomination.
