The Mid-Prairie School Board received a report from Superintendent Mark Schneider on the status of current projects around the district related to educational space and safety concerns. After a bond referendum failed to pass in the district at the beginning of March, the board refocused on what they deemed to be priority projects.

First priorities include projects at the Middle School and East Elementary. Second priority projects are updates to lights at the softball field in Kalona and resurfacing of the high school track. Total price tag for these projects is $11.3 million. To proceed with construction, the district needs to authorize Piper Sandler to issue revenue bonds in the amount of $12.6 million. The school board agreed unanimously that the bonds be issued.
