It was wet, cold, and overall tough conditions to golf on Tuesday, but the Winfield-Mt. Union girls braved the weather and traveled to Flint Hills Golf Course in Burlington for an 18-hole meet.
No team scores were kept and golfers either participated in regular stroke play, best ball, or best shot. Ava Hagge competed in regular stroke play and finished with a 106 score where she tallied a 56 front-nine and improved with a 50 back-nine to place sixth. Alli Humphreys and Afton Wilkerson had the fifth best duo score in the best ball category by pairing a 51 front with a 55 back for a 106 final tally. Chloe Fisher and Lily Freeman placed second in best shot with a 94 total score by starting with a 48 and ending with 46 strokes on the back-nine.
WMU will next be on the course Monday in Wapello.
