It was a splendid day for golf and it was a splendid outcome for the Washington teams on Monday when they bested the field at another Southeast Conference meet.
The Washington girls made a trip to Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course in Fort Madison and finished first out of six with a nine-hole tally of 181. Makenna Conrad led the orange and black with a 39 to occupy the runner-up spot. Kaylin Long shot a 44, Alecia Goff 47, and Mallary Johnson 51.
The Demon boys picked up their first conference victory at Elks Golf Course in Keokuk by placing first out of five with a score of 163 to edge out Fairfield’s 166. Three individuals carded a 39 for the top spot including Washington’s Grant Sobaski being meet medalist and Roman Roth in second.
