It was a long awaited start to the season Monday for the Keota boys’ golf team when they traveled to Montezuma for a South Iowa Cedar League matchup against the host Braves and Tri-County.
The Eagles placed second in the meet with a nine-hole score of 175, six behind Montezuma. The Trojans shot a 243. Sophomore Sawyer Stout led the purple and gold with a 41 and Cole Kindred was not far behind with a 43. Colten Clarahan carded a 45, Billie Kindred 46, and Evan Vittetoe finished with a 47.
Keota returns to action tomorrow in Brooklyn.
