The Spring season and Easter Holiday will be in full force this Saturday at the Kalona Historical Village as they invite folks for their annual Easter Egg Hunt and Spring Vendor Show. The vendor show will feature around 20 booths on the grounds, each with unique items for sale. The Easter Egg Hunt will be done in family units and is open to those with kids 12 and under. Managing Director of the Kalona Historical Society Nancy Roth spoke with KCII news about putting the event together and what people will see Saturday. “The vendor show is going to be at the Historical Village Visitor Center. So they’ll have booths in every little nook and cranny. There will be more than 20 (booths), they’ll have anything from hand made items to antiques. There’s quite a wide variety. For the egg hunt, there will be about 5,000 eggs in the fenced-in area of the grounds. There will also be other activities, pony rides, Optimist and Rotary Club sponsored activities, a meal, egg coloring and more.”

Doors open at 10 a.m. for both events. There is no sign up or cost of admission. The egg hunt will begin at 10:30. A meal of hot dogs, chips and cookies will be available for a freewill donation.
