After numerous rain outs, the Sigourney golf teams finally opened the spring on Monday at the Brooklyn Victor Country Club to compete in a South Iowa Cedar League triangular against HLV and English Valleys.

The Savage girls were the only squad with enough to post a team score and they tallied a 216 in the nine-hole meet. Maddie Hornback picked up right where she left off last year with a meet medalist score of 42 and Maizy Cowman was runner-up with a 49. Claire Svenby carded a 55 and Julia VanEe managed a 70. The Sigourney boys shot a 200 to place third with English Valleys finishing with a 179 and HLV right behind with 180. Clay Morse was in a tie for fifth with 44, Brady Clark had a 45, Isaac Bruns 53, and Cain Weber 58.

The Savages return to action tomorrow for a home triangular.
