A Washington man has been given a deferred judgment for an October 2021 incident.
Court documents show 21-year-old Brant Garret Stout pleaded guilty to a charge of operating while under the influence first offense, a serious misdemeanor, and judgment was deferred for this count and one count of class D felony eluding. Stout is placed on one year of probation with Washington County Outreach. He must pay any pecuniary damages filed, and a civil penalty of $1,250 with a 15% criminal services surcharge. One half of the fine may be waived upon filing proof that Stout has obtained a temporary restricted license. All other traffic violations were dismissed with costs to Stout. On October 23rd, a Washington County Sheriff’s deputy witnessed Stout driving on East Washington Street with a non-working brake light. A pursuit ensued after the deputy attempted a traffic stop, during which Stout ran through multiple stop signs and into the Evans Welding property. He was eventually stopped at the intersection of Highway 92 and Palm Avenue east of Washington.
