The Hillcrest Academy Raven boys soccer team will meet the new Sigourney-Keota Cobra soccer team Thursday in a non-conference match. The Ravens come into the night with a 1-2 record after a heartbreaking penalty kick loss Friday to Iowa City Regina. In the contest with the Regals, the Ravens had Grant Bender and Micah Gerber drill penalty kicks while Aiden Krabill anchored the defense in goal with 15 saves. For the year, Hillcrest has scored eight goals and surrendered five. Diego Ramos has a team best four goals. Collin Miller leads the Ravens with a pair of assists. Aiden Krabill has spent all 260 minutes in goal this year, stopping 22 of 26 shots sent his way for an 85% save percentage.

This is the first varsity season for SK, who enters with a 1-3 record for the year. Their lone victory came by 4-1 score over Highland. They have dropped matches to Washington, Central Lee and Prairie City Monroe this year. The Cobras have scored three goals and given up 21. Ty Shafranek has scored three times to lead the Cobra offense. Jack Clarahan has a team best two assists, and in goal, Brock Alderson has 240 minutes, saving 28 of 38 shots for a 74% save percentage. Action starts this afternoon at 3:30p.m. and continues into the evening on the campus of Hillcrest Academy.
