As the Washington County Riverboat Foundation determines the 2022 spring grant cycle recipients, three applicants were invited to share more about their requests to the Board of Directors last week.

Community Foundation of Washington County, City of Riverside, and YMCA of Washington County were all asked to present their projects to the foundation board and answer questions from the directors at the Washington County Communications Center. Community Foundation Executive Director Millie Youngquist shared how they have applied for $100,000 that would be matched with $100,000 in private contributions from Washington County donors to create approximately 10 new endowment funds to benefit non-profit groups in the county. The City of Riverside is asking for about $206,104 for renovation of Railroad Park which has already begun construction. The total project cost is about $586,427. The YMCA has applied for $3 million for phase II of the new building in Washington that would add an indoor aquatic center, replacing the over-century old pool downtown. Total project cost is estimated at $7.1 million. Grant awards will be announced on May 18th.
