Saturday night Wapello County authorities arrested an Ottumwa man with outstanding warrants in Washington County. Officers arrested 37-year-old Derek Brandon Morgan, a little after 8p.m. at 330 West 2nd Street in Ottumwa. Morgan was wanted for violation of probation on three felony cases. The charges stem from incidents in August of 2019 where he was charged with second degree theft and third degree burglary, both Class D Felonies, for breaking into Westside Storage Units on West 5th Street in Washington; September of 2019, third degree burglary, a Class D Felony, connected to a residential burglary at 1104 East Adams Street in Washington; and in December of 2020, control of a firearm or offensive weapon by a felon, a Class D Felony, for possession of two shotguns found during a home visit by a probation officer. A detainer has been placed with the Wapello County Jail.
