Start to finish, it was a clinic Tuesday night for the No. 1 ranked Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys soccer team as they dispatched River Valley Conference foe Anamosa 10-0 in 79 minutes. The Golden Hawks built a 6-0 lead in the first half. Noah Ford had the first two goals of the game, in the fifth minute he scored on a Jack Pennington assist, in the 15th minute it was a PK. Up 2-0 Gunnar Gingerich made it 3-0 on a Sawyer Hough assist. Pennington then found the back of the net twice in a row, once in the 26th minute on a Collin Miller assist the other in the 34th minute with Daniel Rodgers supplying the help. Owen Trimpe closed the first half scoring with a finish on an Alex Bean assist.

Out of the break the Hawks just kept scoring. In the 47th minute Gunnar Gingerich grabbed his second goal, this one on a Trimpe assist, five minutes later Braden Hartley found the scoresheet on a Noah Ford assist to make it 8-0, Beau Flynn’s penalty kick goal made it 9-0 in the 77th minute and Gingerich finished his hat trick and the game with a header in the final minute of the contest. Gingerich spoke after the match about his big night. “The passing and our corner kicks have been really good this year from Owen (Trimpe) and Noah Ford. Those were just executed perfectly today and then for the other goal I was just one-on-one. Our triangles were immaculate. We were able to 1-2. Everything just worked out for us today. I haven’t had too many header goals but it felt good just to finish the game.”

Mid-Prairie racked up an incredible 54 total shots, 33 of those on goal. Andrew Kaufman and Justice Jones combined for three saves and a clean sheet. Mid-Prairie remains undefeated at 7-0. They travel to Prince of Peace Friday night.
