The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls soccer team won a shoot out on the road Tuesday at Anamosa, taking the River Valley Conference match 5-3 over the Blue Raiders. Anamosa had the advantage early, scoring the game’s first two goals and holding a 2-1 lead at the half, but Mid-Prairie made adjustments during the break and outscored the Raiders 4-1 after intermission to take the win. Esther Hughes put together another phenomenal game. The state’s second leading scorer in 1A had a hat trick and Zoey Curtiss scored her first two goals of the season. Kaitlin Martin had two assists, Hughes and Curtiss had one helper each. Ainsley Lueck had nine saves in goal. With the come-from-behind win, Mid-Prairie is now 5-3 on the year with a trip to Northeast Goose Lake on Friday.
