Fun and fancy dress are on the agenda for a pair of area high schools this week as prom season is in full swing. The Highland and Mid-Prairie School Districts are both holding prom activities on Saturday, April 23rd.
For the Huskies, their event sponsored by the junior class will have an “Enchanted Garden” theme. Pictures are scheduled at Highland High School at 6:30p.m. Grand March line-up will be at 7:15p.m. and step off at 7:30p.m. The dance will continue from the end of Grand March festivities through 11p.m. at the Highland High School gym. Post prom is sponsored by the junior and senior parents at the high school from 11:30p.m. to 3:30a.m. Activities include dodgeball, bubble soccer, cash cube, laser tag, bags tournament, refreshments, video games and more.
For Mid-Prairie, their prom will have an “Enchanted Forest” theme with Grand March beginning at 8p.m. at the high school. The dance immediately follows Grand March and continues until 11p.m. Post prom will be held at Wellman Parkside YMCA from 11a.m. to 3a.m. The event will have a “County Fair” theme with activities including pony hops, wrecking ball and joust arena, mechanical bull, photo booth, games, food, drinks, prizes and a souvenir t-shirt.
