The Washington County Board of Supervisors approved a proposal for a county office relocation feasibility study from Carl A. Nelson & Co. Tuesday.
The proposal letter describes the scope of the study which includes addressing existing and future needs for the county recorder, auditor, treasurer, assessor, attorney, engineer, board of supervisors, public health, probation and parole, outreach, geographic information systems, information technology, and existing offsite storage behind the Jones and Eden Funeral Home. They would also create schematic floor plans to illustrate the new department locations and architectural modifications to buildings two and three on the Orchard Hill complex and the courthouse, as well as a budget, a preliminary code study to identify possible issues or required upgrades, and evaluate existing structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical components and make recommendations. The study is estimated to take eight to 12 weeks to complete. CAN proposed a bill at an hourly rate not to exceed $30,000, and a formal contract is expected to be brought to the supervisor soon afterwards. The county previously approved a feasibility study agreement with Martin Gardner Architecture, PC on a smaller scale for $6,000 last October.
