Graduating high school seniors in the KCII listening area have two weeks left to apply for the annual business and broadcasting scholarships.
KCII awards a $500 scholarship each to two Iowa high school graduating seniors who plan to pursue a business or broadcasting degree at a two-year community college or four-year university. General Manager Joe Nichols says he looks at a variety of accomplishments when evaluating applications, “I’ll look at everything when it comes in and then we make a decision based on who we think will benefit from it the most, and most closely might tie back into the radio or business industry. So we take a good look at that, but I don’t exclude anybody. I get an application, I look at everything.”
Students in the KCII surrounding area can find an application at their guidance counselor’s office, or by downloading the PDF or Word document below. Forms are due May 13th, with the recipients announced on May 20th. You can hear more about the scholarships during Friday’s Halcyon House Washington Page on air and at kciiradio.com.
