The Hillcrest Academy Raven boys soccer team came up short Saturday in a makeup match with visiting Cedar Valley Christian 3-2. The Huskies took an early 1-0 lead in the eighth minute. In the final five minutes of the first half it was Hillcrest that equalized on a Seth Ours goal with the assist from Micah Gerber, leaving things even at one going to the break. Out of intermission, Cedar Valley Christian posted two goals in 60 seconds during the 58th minute of the contest to take a commanding 3-1 advantage. The Ravens would cut that lead in half with a Grant Bender penalty kick to get within 3-2 but were unable to find a second equalizer. Hillcrest won the shots on goal category 9-8 and Aiden Krabill had seven saves. The Ravens are now 4-5 on the year and travel to Mediapolis on Thursday.
