The Mid-Prairie girls soccer team was beaten on their home pitch Monday by visiting No. 10 in Class 1A Iowa City Regina. The Regals took the contest by a 3-1 final count. Regina built a 2-0 lead early. Before half, the Golden Hawks got their lone tally on an Evelyn Gerber free kick to pull within 2-1 going to intermission. Things were fairly even after the break with the Regals scratching across an important insurance goal to regain the plus two advantage. With the loss, Mid-Prairie is now 6-4 on the year as Regina improves to 7-2. The Golden Hawks will next be in action Friday when they travel to Wapello.
