The second win of the spring was picked up by the Columbus Community girls’ soccer team on Monday when they managed a season sweep of Wapello winning 3-2.

A couple weeks removed from a 2-0 win over the Arrows (1-5) in meeting number one, the Wildcats made sure that game wasn’t a fluke when they jumped out to a 2-0 advantage at half on Monday thanks to a pair of goals from Juvixsa Valdez. The senior added one more tally in the final 40 minutes for the hat trick and her ninth goal of the year. Sarah Campa recorded one assist in the win.

The Wildcats improve to 2-8 and they close out the regular season May 13th hosting Central Lee. The Columbus boys also took care of Wapello with the SEISC game ending in a 7-2 score. They improve to 7-3 on the spring.
