
Marengo was Thursday’s destination for the Keota girls’ track team when they participated in the Rick Wanamaker Invite and one individual brought home a gold medal.
Izzi Chalupa was the headliner placing first in the long jump with a leap of 14’2’’, six inches farther than the second place competitor. She also placed third in the 100m (14.72) and was a part of the second place shuttle hurdle relay (1:20.32) with the rest of the team being Grace Conger, Lainey Swanson, and Kimberly Clarahan. Clarahan nabbed third in the 400m hurdles (1:24), Conger was fourth in the 400m (1:16), and Ava Greiner sixth in the 800m (3:12).
