Before advancing through their district on Wednesday, the Keota boys’ golf team put together a strong showing at Monday’s South Iowa Cedar League Meet at Oskaloosa Golf Course with a runner-up finish.
The Eagles placed second out of 12 teams with an 18-hole score of 359, seven strokes behind conference champion Montezuma. Colten Clarahan had a top five individual showing placing fifth with an 88. Cole Kindred and Billie Kindred finished ninth and 10th, respectively with matching rounds of 89. Sawyer Stout finished with a 93, Caden Sprouse 97, and Evan Vittetoe 112.
The Eagles won their Deerwood sectional on Wednesday so they advance to Monday’s district meet when they play at Pleasant Valley in Iowa City.
