The goal is to secure a state bid for several KCII area boys’ golfers today when they hit the course for districts. 

Washington will compete in Class 3A with their district being played at Wildcat Golf Course in Shellsburg. Warren Scarff of Mid-Prairie will represent the Golden Hawks as an individual in class 2A by competing at Heritage Oaks. Four area class 1A schools will compete at Pleasant Valley in Iowa City with Highland, Hillcrest Academy, Keota, and Sigourney all advancing through sectionals. Additionally, Winfield-Mt. Union’s Carter Loyd and Jake Edwards qualified as individuals. 

The top two teams at each district will advance and the top two individuals on non-qualifying teams will also get the nod to next week’s state meet. Each meet today gets started at 10 a.m.
