For the second straight spring the black and gold will be represented at the Iowa High School State Girls Golf Meet with Sigourney delivering an encore performance on Wednesday by winning a class 1A regional final in Lynnville.
Coming into the day as the favorites, the Savages were not phased by the competition at Diamond Trail by winning the seven team field with an 18-hole score of 371. BCLUW is also moving on to the big dance with a 392. Maddie Hornback set the tone for the team shooting a runner-up tally of 78, only behind defending state champion Greenlee Smock of Lynnville-Sully with a 74. Maizy Cowman tied for fifth with an 88, Claire Svenby finished with 99, and Reggie Talbert had 106. Scratch scores included Zoe Webb 111 and Julia VanEe 129.
The Savages head back to state May 26th and 27th at American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown.
