The Wellman-Scofield Public Library will be having a Summer Reading Program for area children and Children’s Librarian Lisa Lundstrom shares what the Summer Reading Program is, “What the Summer Reading Program is is a chance for children to engage in reading and just learning activities throughout the summer to prevent the summer slide.”

The kick-off is scheduled for May 31, at 4:30 pm at the Parks and Activities Center in Wellman. Lundstrom explains some of the activities and the age groups for them, “And the ages for most of the stuff is age 0-12. We are working on coming up with maybe a log for adults to do some reading. We do have some kind of worksheets and stuff for teens as well to try to keep them engaged in the summer as well.”
