Two candidates are running for the Republican nomination in the primary race for Washington County Recorder on June 7th.
Washington residents Dawn Fall-Hayes and Teresa Mangold are running for the nomination, as current Recorder Jo Greiner is retiring at the end of this year. County Recorder is an elected, four-year position, whose duties are to maintain official records of documents affecting title to real estate in order to preserve property rights and protect innocent third parties in real estate transactions.
Fall-Hayes was born and raised in Washington, graduated from the University of Iowa, and has experience in banking, insurance, and real estate. She shares why she has chosen to run for recorder, “It fits my skill set and gives me the opportunity to interact with the public, which I enjoy. I believe my background in customer service, real estate, insurance, and banking, and management experience makes me well qualified for the position.”
Polls will be open from 7 a.m.- 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 7th to elect Republican and Democratic nominees to run in the November general election. The Washington County Auditor’s Office notes that your polling location may have changed due to the census redistricting. Residents can vote via absentee ballot during the auditor’s office business hours now through June 6th at the courthouse. More voting information can be found here, and you can hear more from Fall-Hayes during Monday’s Halcyon House Washington Page on air and at kciiradio.com.
