Last weekend, an inmate at the Henry County Jail assaulted multiple staff members. Just after midnight May 21st, 23-year-old Jeremiah Trevaughn Dean of Iowa City, was combative with staff and officers who were attempting to remove him from a cell. During the altercation, staff and a deputy received minor injuries. Dean was charged with four counts of assault by an inmate with bodily fluids or secretions, Class D felonies, assault on persons in certain occupations with bodily injury, an aggravated misdemeanor and interference with official acts causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor. Dean was in custody on charges of disorderly conduct.
