It was a successful road trip to Mediapolis on Tuesday for the Highland softball team when they shutout the Bulldogs 6-0 in their first Southeast Iowa Super Conference meeting of the year.
The Huskies put up a crooked number in the third with a five run frame and tacked on one more in the fourth for good measure. The team recorded six hits with Sarah Burton going 2-for-2 and two runs scored while Grace Batcheller brought in three tallies on a triple. The senior Batcheller got the win tossing five innings of shutout ball allowing just two hits and striking out five.
Highland improves to 3-2 overall, 3-1 in the SEISC, and they host Pekin (1-3) tomorrow.
