PAWS & More Animal Shelter in Washington is offering a special promotion for the public to find their next dynamic furry duo this weekend.

The shelter is hosting a kitten shower Saturday from noon-4 p.m., where residents are encouraged to bring donations such as canned paté style cat food, toys, and other kitty related items, and Shelter Director Amber Talbot says those who adopt a cat or kitten can receive a second one with no additional adoption fee, “Kittens being adopted really need to have a buddy. They learn more appropriate kitten social play, bite inhibition, things like that. Just the scratching and rustling. Kitties that grow up independently from a young age tend to experience behavioral issues later in life. The owners may complain of them being too rough or they bite a lot or they scratch when they’re playing so it’s just them not being able to learn that proper behavioral thresholds from siblings.”

Talbot hopes they can find new homes for their influx of felines as they’ve recently had about 70 in foster care. Adoption fee for cats and kittens is $100 which covers spay and neuter, deworming, flea and tick preventative, microchip with national registration, and other services.
