The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball and softball teams continue their busy schedule for the week, returning home Thursday to host Northeast Goose Lake. The Golden Hawk baseball team is 4-2 on the season after a 5-4 loss at Durant Wednesday. As a team, the Golden Hawks are hitting .268 with Brock Harland and Collin Miller both over the .400 mark. Those two and Will Cavanagh have the team lead with seven hits each. Dylan Henry has a team best five driven in and Cain Brown has scored eight times. On the mound, the Mid-Prairie team ERA is 2.03 with Brady Weber, Miller and Alex Bean all sporting sub-two marks. Miller, Bean, Grout and Brown all have pitching victories so far. The Rebels are 2-2 this year with wins over Central DeWitt and Bellevue and losses to Anamosa and Cascade. They are hitting .221 as a team led by .714 from Curtis Eberhart with a team best five hits. Kael Parson has driven in three. The Rebels have a 2.21 team ERA with Eberhart and Clayton Meyermann each recording victories. Mid-Prairie has won three straight in the series including a 15-8 win in 2021.

The Golden Hawk girls are 2-3 on the campaign following a 4-1 upset of No. 13 in Class 2A Durant on the road Wednesday. Northeast is 6-1 this season and a perfect 4-0 in conference play. They were a 7-1 winner over Bellevue on Tuesday. The Rebels are ranked No. 8 in Class 3A in the first poll of the year from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. This year, they are hitting .337 as a team with Bynnlin Kroymann out front with a .560 average. In the circle they hold a 1.67 team ERA with Madison Kluever at 0.60 with a 6-0 record, striking out 65 across 35 innings. Northeast has won five straight in this series including a 15-6 win in 2021.
