The United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties is currently conducting a “Feed Our Need” food drive to support children out of school during the summertime.
Vice President of Development and Marketing Trisha Smith discusses the partnership with Coral Ridge Mall,”Our “Feed Our need” food drive is a partnership with the Coral Ridge Mall to address the issues of hunger that target specific groups and our first “Feed Our Need” drive is happening right now to address the issue of children who are out of school for the summer and are now facing up to 90 days without a reliable food source.”
Smith adds they are looking for items like easy mac cups, granola bars, Slim Jims and peanut butter. She says that in addition to food items, sunscreen is needed since kids are involved in a lot of outdoor activities in the summer.
In addition to dropping off donations at the Visitors Center at Coral Ridge Mall, a QR Code is available and can be found on the United Way of Johnson and Washington Counties’ website. A link to their website can be found with this story on kciiradio.com. www.unitedwayjwc.org
