After 41 years in Education and 34 years of those at Mid Prairie School District, Superintendent Mark Schneider is retiring.

Schneider shares what one of the biggest challenges as an educator and administrator over the years has been, “That’s kind of hard for me to say, John. Obviously with technology becomes a bigger and greater need to communicate. So, I think that has, you know, obviously, I think in one respect it’s easier because you have all this technology to be able to communicate but on the other hand it becomes challenging because people expect it quicker. So I would just say, just being able to communicate on almost an immediate basis it gets really difficult sometimes to keep up with all of that.”

The School Board and Central Office Staff of Mid Prairie have scheduled a Retirement Celebration for Mr. Schneider on Thursday June 16 from 4-7pm at the Mid Prairie High School Multi-Purpose Room.

Hear more from Schneider on-air and online today during the first of a two-part interview on the JJ Nichting Company In Touch with Southeast Iowa program.
