One of the hottest baseball teams in the area resides in Keota and they weren’t cooling off on Wednesday when they relied on another stellar pitching performance in a 4-2 victory over HLV (3-7).
Keota picked up a run in the first and two in the second and that was all the help Aidan Anderson needed on the mound. The junior recorded 6 1/3 innings of work giving up one earned run on four hits and striking out seven batters in 108 total pitches. The offense scattered seven hits with Colten Clarahan and Caden Clarahan each going 2-for-4 with one RBI. Cole Kindred and Caleb Waterhouse also brought in runs. The purple and gold move to 13-3 overall and 9-1 in the SICL.
The Eagle softball team had a 1-0 lead in the first, but it didn’t last long in an 11-1 defeat to the Warriors (3-7). Keota is now 0-12 overall and 0-11 in the conference.
Both Eagle teams host Lynnville-Sully tonight.
